Thirty Three Smarter is resource for renters and first home owners built on the simple idea that you don't need to own the walls to live well between them.
I'm Jared, the founder. I started out as a cabinet maker at seventeen, spent the next decade-plus on residential and commercial building sites as a builder's laborer, and trained as an aircraft engineer along the way — which is a long-winded way of saying I know how things are put together, how things need to be engineered to work well, and I have seen real life examples of what doesn't work well.
I built an off-grid tiny house in New Zealand and learned solar and smart home setup the hard way, with trial and error. It was at this time I wanted a resource like 33 Smarter.
I have and continue to study Passive Haus and Earthship design because I'm genuinely interested in how buildings should work, not just how they're mass produced.
Thirty Three Smarter brings all of that to the apartment: design hacks that don't void your bond, smart home tech that travels with you, and audio kit worth listening to — tested in real rentals, with a turntable spinning and a coffee that's gone cold. No drilling required.
